Heatstroke Warning: Temperatures Reach 40°C in Japan

According to weather forecasts, the Kanto region—including Tokyo, Ibaraki, Tochigi, Gunma, Chiba, Saitama, Kanagawa, and Yamanashi—is experiencing extreme heat, with temperatures exceeding 40°C.

Residents are advised to take precautions against heatstroke.

Basic first aid measures include:

  1. Move to a cool, well-ventilated area.

  2. Loosen clothing and cool the body using cold towels, ice packs, or cold water bottles applied to the neck, underarms, and legs.

  3. Rehydrate with water or electrolyte drinks.
