Japan Now Recognizes Sinovac and Sinopharm Vaccines

Japan has expanded its list of approved COVID-19 vaccines for quarantine-free entry (three doses required).

Approved vaccines include:

• Pfizer

• BioNTech

• Fosun Pharma

• Moderna

• AstraZeneca

• Covishield (Serum Institute of India)

• Janssen

• Bharat Biotech

• Novavax

• COVOVAX (Serum Institute of India)

• Sinopharm

• Sinovac

• CanSino Biologics

Vaccination certificates must be issued by a government authority or medical institution and written in Japanese or English.

Additional Information:

• Janssen and CanSino Biologics vaccines are considered equivalent to two doses with a single shot.

• Different vaccine brands may be mixed between the first and third doses.
