On April 21, 2026, a launch meeting for a national initiative aimed at establishing a “Basic Law for an Orderly and Harmonious Society with Foreign Nationals” was held in Tokyo, Japan. Approximately 120 participants from political, economic, and various other sectors attended the event.
The meeting took place at the House of Representatives building. On behalf of NA BANGKOK RECRUITMENT CO., LTD., Masaki Wada, Project Manager, attended as the company’s representative to gather insights into the latest developments and future direction of Japan’s foreign workforce policies.
This initiative aims to systematically organize policies related to various residency statuses, including the new skill development employment system, Specified Skilled Worker (SSW), and statuses such as Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services. It focuses on clarifying principles, responsibilities, and policy measures, while establishing a legal framework that enables effective cross-ministerial coordination.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that foreign nationals should not be regarded merely as a labor force, but should be welcomed as “members of society” who understand Japanese culture and traditions and are motivated to live and work in Japan. At the same time, the importance of orderly acceptance was highlighted, along with the expectation that foreign nationals themselves uphold appropriate awareness and responsibilities.
Furthermore, it was confirmed that the establishment of such a basic law would provide a clear national direction and promote cooperation among the government, local authorities, private sector, citizens, and foreign workers, contributing to the realization of a sustainable and harmonious society.
Through this participation, NA BANGKOK RECRUITMENT will continue to closely monitor key policy developments in Japan, while enhancing the quality of pre-departure training programs and expanding employment opportunities for Thai workers.
